Last weekend was a successful one for Clydesdale Harriers.
First up was the George Cummings Road Relays at Houston. We had no less than
five teams running with the woman’s team winning first Masters Team. Full
results as soon as they become available.
In Inverness there was the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and
10k. In the marathon John Fox ran well to finish in a time of 3h 34m 15s,
followed by Mairi Fox in 4h 43m 31s. In the 10k Martin King ran well to finish
in a time of 41.37, followed by Fiona McCue (42.57).
Further afield was the Berlin Marathon where Tricia
Stevenson had the race of her life to take a staggering 19 minutes off her marathon
time to finish in 3h 58m 0s. This now gives her a
qualifying ‘good for age’ time for next year’s Boston Marathon so many
congratulations to her!
Next races for the harriers this month include the Neil
McCover Memorial Half Marathon in Kirkintilloch (7th October), the
West Districts Cross Country Championships at Kilmarnock (13th
October), Amsterdam Marathon (21st October), and the National Cross
Country Championships at Cumbernauld (27th October).
