News report weekended 17th February

On Sunday Clydesdale Harriers had the Kirkintilloch Olympians 12.5k Road Race. This year the course was an out and back course along quiet but hilly country roads. In near perfect conditions Marina McCallum was fastest harrier finishing as 6th Female and winning 3rd Vet over 35 in a time of 55.46, followed by Yvonne Green (60.17).
The previous weekend was our club cross country championships at Carleith Farm. Senior results were given last week. The Juniors also all ran well. Under  11 Girls had Jade Milne running approximately 1k finishing in 5.45. Under 11 Boys had Jack Dolan finishing in 5.33, followed by Luke Windup (5.41), Ryan McKell (5.48), Stuart Aird (5.51), and Zak Shannon (6.27). Under 13 Girls had Natasha Shaw running over 2k in a time of 11.59, followed by Iona Allan (12.39), Lucy McKenzie (12.41), Caitlin Stuart (13.16), Chloe Allan (15.00), Niamh Keenan (15.46), and Sophie Allan (16.22). Under 13 Boys had Ronan Ross finishing in a time of 11.21, followed by Harry Bothwick (11.32), and Stephen Kane (12.33).  Under 15 Girls had Charlotte Ross finishing in 17.55, followed by Emily Paxton (20.12). Under 15 Boys had Brian Aird running 16.02, followed by Lewis Hay (16.24), Darrin Dolan (16.56), and Declan Boyle (20.50). Under 17 Girls had Louise Steele-Milne running 23.35 and Under 17 Boys had David Campbell.
This Saturday is the National Cross Country Championships at Falkirk (Callendar Park). This is the main event in the cross country calendar with the best runners in the country racing. Races start from 1130 am.
