News report weekending 10th February

Last weekend was the club’s own cross country championships at Carleith Farm, behind Clydebank Crematorium. Conditions were calm and dry. Underfoot was not too muddy.  The juniors ran distances according to their age. Results of these soon. The senior and Under 20 members then ran. The Under 20s running 2 full laps of the course which was approximately 3.8 miles. Tony Dolan was fastest (33.24), followed by Claire Reid (33.53). The seniors ran 3 laps which was approximately 5.7 miles.  Fastest senior was Paul Carroll who ran 36.54, followed by Michael Diver (40.44), Gerry Montgomery (41.47), Hugh Laverty (42.53), Pamela McCrossan (43.15), Anne Murray (44.08), Ryan Nelson (44.34), Fiona McCue (45.10), Marina McCallum (46.17), Paul McKendry (46.26), Gerry Kane (46.33), Watson Jones (48.28), and Peter Rudzinski (52.50).
The previous weekend was the Renfrewshire AAA County Road Race Championships which had Alan Dick running the 5 mile course in a time of 33.51 in extremely blustery conditions.
