On Sunday was the Balfron 10k for seven members of
Clydesdale Harriers. Fastest harrier on the hilly out and back course was Gerry Montgomery
(39.03 and 2nd vet 50) followed by Martin King (43.04), Paul McKendry
(43.08), Fiona McCue (44.05), Marina McCallum (44.16), Brian Reilly (46.21),
and Christine Duncanson (47.47 and 1st vet 50).
The previous weekend was the Deafblind Scotland Canal Run
10k at Bishopbriggs. Hugh Laverty had a solid run over the undulating course to
finish in a time of 42.00.
Also that day was the SAL (Scottish Athletics League) at the
Ayrshire Athletics Arena. Pat McCloskey ran in the 100m ‘A’ to finish in a time
of 13.33 and the 200m ‘B’ (26.49). David Campbell ran in the 100m ‘B’ (12.56),
and the 400m ‘A’ (54.80). Andy Hunter
ran in the 200m ‘A’ to finish in 24.60, and jumped in the Long Jump (5.99m). Iain
Robertson ran in the 1500m ‘A’ (4.34.76), and the 800m ‘A’ (2.08.69). Ryan
Nelson ran in the 1500m ‘B’ to finish in a time of 5.18.13, and the 800m ‘B’
(2.28.87). T. Akinkumni competed in the Long Jump ‘B’ and the High Jump ‘B’
jumping.27m and 1.60m respectively.
Next up was the 4x100m Relay which had Andy Hunter, Iain
Robertson, Pat McCloskey and T. Akinkumni as the team running well to finish 5th
in 51.31. The 4x400m Relay had David Campbell, Pat McCloskey, Ryan Nelson, and
Iain Robertson as the team having another good run to finish in 4.10.95 and 3rd
position.
