The annual West Dunbartonshire School ’s Cross Country was held on Friday the 26th April. There were significant numbers of athletes from Clydesdale Harriers representing their perspective schools.
In the primary 7 girl’s race, Natasha Shaw ran with her usual determination to finish comfortably in second place.
The S1 girl’s race was close and it was a battle to the finish between two Harriers, Iona Allan and Antonia Breen. Iona managed to push forward and take first place with Antonia a close second. There was also a team prize for Iona despite all the girls running the wrong way!
The boys S2 race saw Lewis Priest home first in what can only be described as a phenomenal run; Callum Ross took third place in a gutsy performance with Brian Aird finishing in 5th despite trying to overcome a recent injury.
By the time the S3 girls ran, the girl’s wanted to make sure that Clydesdale would again be represented on the podium and their run reflected their determination. First over the line was Emily Paxton who finished comfortably in first place, followed by Erin Denny, who ran a great race to finish second. Emily also took the team prize.
Well done to all the Harriers.
